Solutions – Health & Assisted Living
Independent Age, – A charity for the elderly, wanted a “companion channel” to reach their elderly audience in their own homes. The site was aimed at their membership audience, and designed to supplement the other forms of care the Charity offered. It was available on TV via a specialist set-top box, mobile and tablet.
NSIC-Online (for the National Spinal Injuries Centre) – An education and information channel for patients after they have left the Centre, as well as their families, friends and carers. The purpose is to ensure that they are kept in touch and up to date with the latest care and coping information to establish and maintain both quality of life and as much independence as possible. As their homes may be based many miles away, or even in different countries, this is a crucial service for the Centre.
Teleforms – improving workflow for outreach organisations –Teleforms give you the ability to improve your workflow by cutting out unnecessary paperwork in completing forms. The Telecare Assessment Teleform has been designed to assist non-technical staff assess and report on people’s telecare needs. They work across a wide range of browser-enabled devices, from smartphones to tablets, PCs to Smart TVs.
Whiteley Village in Surrey was the first to pioneer the use of their companion channel to support and engage with residents via PC, tablet and TV/set top box. The service was aimed at enabling residents, their families and friends anywhere in the world to access and view the same information.
Their main website is now also a Chameleon site, and has a link to the residents’ own channel.
Hull Community Channel – This project is at the feasibility stage, and takes us into the Local Authority arena. The aim is to encourage residents to interact with the Council online, and to offer a mixture of Council and local community areas, links and topics in order to attract and engage the designated audience. By being multiplatform, again users will be able to access the service from whatever device they have (or choose to use), including SmartTV.
